my June

oh, June..
Somehow I blinked and it was gone. Just like that. Yet it was filled with lots of events, laughter & joy. There were
♥ picnic with my love
art battle
♥ movies: Epic, Great Gatsby (x 2), Man of Steel & Monsters University
♥ girls night out
♥ time with a dear friend visiting from Toronto
charity event
♥ seawall walks
♥ desserts, desserts & more sweet desserts
♥ double dates
♥ & urban sketches around Vancouver

As always I am very grateful for this beautiful, fun-filled month and half a year so far. Recently I saw this quote on Pinterest that sums up how I feel right now.
“Gratitude doesn’t change the scenery. It merely washes clean the glass you look through so you can clearly see the colours.” -Richelle E. Goodrich

The Sketchbook Project 2013

Last year I had the pleasure of attending The Sketchbook Project 2012 that was touring here in Vancouver for two days. The Sketchbook Project is a global, crowd-sourced art project and interactive, traveling exhibition of handmade books. Their mission is to allow anyone to be able to participate in art and to create a collection of work that represents the current state of artists worldwide. I loved looking through people’s sketchbooks and decided to join this year’s tour. My best friend and I ordered our blank sketchbooks last year and got to work.
Here is a sneak peek of what you can expect to see in my sketchbook.
The rest of my Sketchbook Project can be found here. The Summer Tour dates and locations can be found here. 🙂
Thanks for looking & happy creative Tuesday!

Art Battle 57

Wow. What an incredible night I’ve had at the Art Battle 57 this past Tuesday. There were 12 artists, split into two groups of 6 battling against each other. Everyone was very talented and competition was tough. The artists were given blank canvases, paints and 20 minutes to complete a painting. Then it was up to the audience to decide which two paintings they liked the best from each round. Happy to say, I won my round and placed in the final 4! I also had the highest bid painting of the night which sold at $200. I’m so very humbled and thankful.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support me, cheered me on and sent good vibes my way. I appreciate you all more than you’ll ever know.
HUGE thanks to event’s organizer (and super talented artist) Bill Higginson, amazing photographer Rico D. Cancio, our lively MC and fellow artist Jamil Keyani and everyone else at Art Battle 57. This has been truly an unforgettable experience and I am very grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of it.
