Get Messy || art journaling 05

Hello again and happy Thursday!
I’ve got two pieces of happy news:

  1. Get Messy is growing each week and we have some absolutely AMAZING talented ladies.
  2. I have two NEW pages in my art journal. That’s right, no more archives from my 2012 journal 😉
For the month of July we’re doing a prompt for our art journals. We thought it would be interesting to see how different people would interpret the same prompt. So here goes, Prompt 1- Lets have a party!
Plan a fun party! Create a collage detailing what your party will be like. Include food, drinks, décor, lighting, color scheme, dress code, place settings, location, guests, etc. Plan until your hearts content!I chose to have a Polaroid party because, well, I absolutely love taking photos, especially instant film ones and thought it would be a great kind of party to have with friends 🙂 Here is my art journal page below:

For my second non-themed page I did a very simple one. I used the lovely free printable by Vanessa and printed it on gold vellum, trimmed to fit my page, added some embellishments and voila! It’s done. I agree strongly with the quote and think that every person you meet has a great story and something wonderful to bring to the world.

We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.
