Heyo, mayo (why not)
It’s another Get Messy Thursday, full of sparkles, glue and paints. Today we get to see everyone’s takes on the August prompt, created by Caylee.
But first, let’s look at how the prompts work: The 6 main hosts of Get Messy rotate creating prompts each month. On the first Thursday of the month, the new prompt is announced (always on Lauren’s blog) for you to participate too. You have about a month to complete your page(s) inspired by this prompt. Then we want you to return to Lauren’s blog on the last Thursday of the month to participate in a fun link up so we can all admire your creation! How does that sound?
Personally I’m super excited to see everyone’s interpretations of this month’s prompt. Speaking of which, let’s get to right to it!
August Prompt: A Self Portrait in Objects.
Art challenge: Use anything except an actual photo of yourself to make a self portrait.
Here’s my take on the art challenge:IMG_4887-0.JPG
Journal challenge: Who are you? If you had one page to show the world who you are what would you put on it?
And this is my take on the journal challenge:
Here are the two pages together.
IMG_4889-0.JPGP.S.This was happening at 7pm on Wednesday night. Get Messy posts are always due on Thursdays at 1am my time. Who needs to plan ahead? Apparently not me. 6 hours is plenty of time to complete two prompted art journal pages, photograph, edit them and post on the blog, am I right? I’m glad we all agree on this 😉
What do you think? Do you like my little doodles symbolizing my life/me in a nutshell? 🙂 Hehee.
Don’t forget to hop over Lauren’s blog and link up your creations!
Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.IMG_8452.jpg

Ah man, O. That tutu-ed bunny is you through and through.

(and I love all the colour you added to it, I would have left it like the pic at the bottom. but you know that about me already)

I considered the “use each letter of my name to describe something about me” approach and got stuck on the second E… I also wasn’t going to be nearly as clever with the L! You nailed it! Xx
