Let me tell you a little story. I’ve been working on what I thought would be this week’s Get Messy pages for the last couple of days, like the kind of person who plans ahead and doesn’t create hours before the blog post is due. (read: not me 🙂 ) Well, the pages were painted, set aside to dry, painted again, set to dry again, and so on, you get the picture. One page was done but its neighbour, oh man.. the more I painted it, the less I liked it. True artist struggle (which by the way, I rarely experience. Hence why I don’t paint or create when I’m feeling negative and moody, things (and my mood) only get worse. Every single time). Anyways, back to those painted pages. As the daylight was disappearing and I had limited time to photograph my pages for the blog, let alone still create with them, I made the executive call not to use them at all. That good one will probably make an appearance next week, and hopefully its neighbour page too, once I work on it some more 😉
So for now, I give three other, less painted, more simple pages for this week’s installment of Get Messy art journaling.
This third page was used as part of the creative answers for my guest blog feature of Hello Lovely by Caylee. I decided that to be considered an art journal page it needed some colour, in form of washi tape. And as always, that’s all for this week. Next week we all reveal our take on this month’s prompt. (woohoo) and the week after that it’s my turn to give a prompt for October! (double woohoo). Exciting times, my friends.
Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.
