Hello, lovely people.
Get Messy Thursday is here. And today we all show our takes on this month’s prompt, created by yours truly. I have to say I was taken aback by such positive response and feedback for the prompt idea. I’m so very happy that many people have found it so dear and close to their hearts.
So, let’s get to it.
Journaling challenge:
Gratitude. What are you grateful for? What aspects of your life you’re thankful for, that you might be overlooking while being busy?
Here is my page. It is actually a page from my 2012 art journal, but it’s what gave me the idea for this month’s prompt to start with. I read all the things I was grateful for then and they’re still the same now, all 10 of them 🙂
IMG_8648.JPGArt challenge:
Use visual examples for at least three things you’re grateful for. Photos/doodles/magazine cut outs/stickers/anything.. SHOW us your gratitude.
And here is my visual gratitude page from this year. I’m grateful for my amazing and supportive husband, for our little rituals, for living near the ocean, and last but not least for the sunny Vancouver days. IMG_8646.JPGAnd this is an extra page I created for this week. Mix of patterned paper, washi, chipboard stickers. That cute camera sticker is from our fellow Get Messy creative Maria. She has a cute Etsy shop that you should check out 😉IMG_8647.JPG
And here are the two pages together.IMG_8645.JPG
I also have some news. Unfortunately, I will be leaving Get Messy as of the end of this month, so this is my very last post. 🙁 With 2015 being extremely busy both travels and projects-wise I think it’s best for me to re-evaluate some of my commitments and projects. I always want to be able give 100% when I work on something and lately I found myself unable to do that with Get Messy art journals.
I absolutely loved working with all the creative ladies for the last 5 months and will forever cherish all of our Get Messy memories, Skype chats, as well as the encouraging comments on my blog posts. I still plan to do some art journaling and I’ll try to share it on my blog from time to time.
Thank you so much to everyone who has expressed words of encouragement and well wishes. Your kindness never goes unnoticed.
Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

I'm so very honoured to have inspired you to join Get Messy and get back into your art journaling after a long break. I still remember the post you wrote when you first came back to art journaling.

I’m so sad to see you leaving the group, but seeing people being true to themselves always makes me happy and I have so much respect for your decision to put your focus elsewhere. You’ll certainly be missed but excited to see what creative ventures you have up your sleeve!

I love that your 2012 gratitude page still rings true today – to me, that just says you are living the right life for you, yay! And your current gratitude page makes me wish I was back in Vancouver so that we could totally hang out and craft and be grateful for the amazing city together! Xx

And yes, if and when you’re back in Vancouver, let me know!!! it’ll be a craft/beach/tea party for you and me 🙂

Oh Olya, I’m so sad that you are leaving this group! I always loved seeing your pages – your style is quite different from mine and still I got so so much inspiration from you! Will you still be sharing your creative adventures with us on your blog? I really hope that once you have everything settled and maybe find some time again, you will re-join the Get Messy team, although of course I fully understand and respect your decision!
But no matter what you have planned for the next year, I wish you all the best! 🙂

    xo, Kathleen
